We connected with Ana of Ana Pascos Photography about her photography business as one of Toronto’s fabulous photographers for newborn, family and portrait work.
Tell us a bit about your photography business.
At Ana Pascos Photography, we give our clientele more than just beautiful art, we give them a memorable experience.
A photo session with us is about being spoiled: From our first in-person consultation, to the fun and playful photo-shoot, to the custom-designed plan we create for displaying your portraits in your home. Our services are about the little details like helping you select outfits, and keeping you nourished with delicious, little treats. But our pleasure is the final product, wall-art that captures the timeless memories and smiling faces of your family.
What should clients expect when working with you?
Many parents feel apprehensive about booking because they are worried the kids might misbehave, but this liveliness is what makes the photos so stunning!
I harness that energy by getting to know them and spending lots of time in free play, so when the ‘posed’ shots arrive, they are already invested in having their picture taken. Letting them be themselves lets me capture their beautiful and unique personalities for you.
I’ve been a photographer all my life; from fashion, to sports, to products. But while on maternity leave, I photographed a friend’s new baby and felt a sudden emotional connection to my art that I hadn’t experienced before.
I became very passionate about capturing the joy families share with their children, especially the overwhelming love a newborn baby brings into a home.
So I guess my greatest inspirations are my amazing clients.
What’s your favourite place to shoot and why?
I love Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens. It is packed with rustic natural landscapes and beautifully manicured flower gardens. After all, outdoor settings and the fresh air work best for children’s energetic personalities.
When it gets colder, I love photographing in my clients’ homes. They absolutely love the convenience of skipping the commute to my studio with their kids in tow, and are more relaxed in the comfort of their own home. Plus, the portraits become that much more special.
